I did not have much time today to sew and I have been spending a lot of time outside (reading or cleaning the yard). It looks much better now but it's still very bare looking and I find it hard to wait to buy new perennials... Here is a little something I made today... a neon necklace seen at J.Crew gave me the idea.
I have an old couch that I have wanted to recover for years. I have been collecting ideas and fabrics for it and now that I have seen this picture, I am ready for it! And then I found out that there was going to be a Liberty collection for Target coming in March!!! What a good week!
You know, it's funny... now that the girls are 5 and 8, they no longer need my help making their Valentine's cards and I miss it!, even though I enjoy watching their creativity and enthusiasm. I guess I will make my own then, for MY friends;-)

Lily turns 8 in a few days and this year, instead of balloons, I wanted to make a mobile and to me, it looks very happy! In fact, it may stay in our living room for a little while after the party!!! I used some hardware from an old shade, bits of fabric and felt coasters that I bought on sale at Anthropologie... and of course, lots of big felt balls and a few pompons;-)

Those are little houses made in Manon's class and as you may have guessed, they are elves homes;-) I thought the colors were too sweet and wanted to share it with you!!

Here are a few pictures of Lily in her bumblebee costume. I love watching the show of course but I think I love being backstage even better! Seeing the dancers rehearse, the decors being moved and all the commotion in general is what I love!
