C.O.D. stands for Chocolate Overdose... seriously! Valentines Day is just a day old so I am guessing you have had enough chocolate already... right? If (and only if), you got no chocolates, try these cookies... Mine didn't look as good as Martha's (of course) but they tasted great;-)
Yesterday, we decorated matchboxes and filled them with candy for Valentine's day. I loved tiny boxes with surprises in them when I was little and I guess I still do! We used paper but you could also cover them with fabric and put a secret message instead of candy... I am sure some schools don't allow candy anymore!!
We are expecting another snow storm in the DC area... can't say I have had enough with the snow yet because seeing the girls so happy makes me happy too!
(Have you ever had a haircut that you liked so-so, came home and grabbed the scissors to fix it yourself? I did that last night and scared myself enough that I will go back for a fix tomorrow! Like Manon said, "It's OK, it will grow back you know!")
I started to workout again and I love feeling the pain in my legs and arms because it means I did something right! Now let's transition to something very sweet... Brownies! "Mommy, theses are the best brownies in the world!"... is what I heard (sweet!) which is why, I have no picture to show you but here is the recipe! I think the secret to good brownies is using salted butter.
Preheat oven to 310F or so...
Butter and flour the pan (8x8 works great).
Melt 200 Gramms of Ghirardelli Semisweet chocolate chips.
Mix 120 G. of salted butter (a little more than one stick) with 160 G. of Sugar. (I did this with the Kitchenaid b/c my arms were too sore;-)
On low to medium speed, add 3 eggs (one by one) and then 70 G. flour.
Then add the melted chocolate and at the very end, mix in with a spatula the chocolate chips that are left from your Ghiradelli bag (about 100 G. I think). That's our secret;-) but you could also use nuts or whatever you like.
Cook for about 30 minutes and let cool a bit (to let the brownies firm) before slicing.
Miam!
Now back to the workout!!!
