Pom-Pom Time
I have been admiring those pom-poms both in Martha Stewart and Marie-Claire Idees (seems to be as though they get ideas from each other...). I had ordered the blue kit from Martha Stewart Crafts but then decided to make them...

DC in Cookie
I was pleasantly surprised to see DC featured in the traveling section of Cookie (the November Issue). I especially liked the "polaroid-like" picture of the Washinton Monument. And some of my favorite places are in there including the Sullivan's Toy...

Pretty photos- I miss Virginia this time of year! Have you been to Berkley Springs, West VA? It is a small little old town, but there are they baths you can go to with the kids- like a huge deep bath tub each in their own private room. I always brought plenty of empty containers for water- the water taste so good from those springs. Have you been to Waterford (just outside Leesburg)? Another cute little town, although no shops to speak of really.... Lucketts, is close and has Luckett's store- wish I could go there right now- they have the best shabby chic furniture and they used to have cheap, unbelievable prices. One more cute town I miss, is Shepherdstown- fun little shops and cafes. All of these are a short day trip for you and the family. The Homestead is beautiful this time of year- lucky you! Oh and if you go home through the MD way from Leesburg (leaving Lucketts) take the White's Ferry across- my kids loved that. They run all day and I think the Ferry holds about 10 cars(?)- it's quick and my son always felt like Huckleberry Finn! haha!

Ok, I am remembering all these things- sorry! If you ever go to Berkley Spgs.... They have a really old Homeopathic pharmacy there and in town you can buy any type of herbal remedy fresh that you would ever need- there is a man who has lived there forever who gathers many of the leaves, etc locally. I am so wanting to go now!
