After a nice little break in the sun, it is time for school again and of course, time for William to fly back to Algeria... it's interesting to see how Lily and Manon have adapted to the "one month with daddy/one month without" routine... from last year when they cried every time he left, it has evolved into a big hug, a kiss and a smile and a big laugh when he blinks his blue flashlight from the car (a ritual now;-)
In order to finish the winter... but careful, it may still snow;-), my mom sent this little scarf made of all her bamboo remnants + lots of little pompoms for extra happiness.
My mom knitted this little wool cardigan for Lily a while ago but she did not wear it much because her skin is too sensitive and only cotton or cashmere will do;-) It is now Manon's cardigan but before putting it in her drawer, I wanted to "retro" it a bit and I added a flower we made and a small ribbon weaved around the collar.
We received a soft surprise in the mail yesterday. Lily is always so excited to wear sweaters knitted by my mom. She does not like to wear wool... it itches! Cashmere, too warm! And cotton, which she loves, is not really warm enough in the winter. Bamboo is perfect... it looks like cotton but much softer and I hope, warmer.
Happy 2007! We are back from Florida, still unpacking, uploading pictures, etc. We had a wonderful time, great weather. A few days on the Gulf, 3 days at Disney, a few more at the beach and we are back in DC! I will post pictures of our trip soon. In the meantime, here is a sweater knitted by my mom, I just added the buttons, an easy project for the first day of the year!
